BUSINESSES INVITED TO SUPPORT YOUTH PROGRAMMES (17/01/25)
Hailsham Youth Service, committed to providing engaging and accessible activities for young people, is calling on local businesses to join its corporate sponsorship programme. The initiative seeks to strengthen community ties while ensuring the continuation of essential youth services across the town.
Since 2010, one of the Service's key youth activity initiatives, the Friday Night Project, has offered a safe, fun and stimulating environment for young people on Friday evenings. Activities have included dry-slope skiing, pottery glazing, ten-pin bowling, trampolining, crafts, cooking and a wide variety of team sports – designed to inspire, challenge and support young people's personal development.
Delivered in partnership with organisations such as Knockhatch Adventure Park and Freedom Leisure, the Friday Night Project has steadily grown in popularity. Each session is eagerly anticipated by participants and aims to encourage social skills, confidence and a positive sense of community.
To expand its programme and meet growing demand, Hailsham Youth Service is seeking corporate sponsors. Partnering businesses will play a crucial role in sustaining and developing youth services, while also receiving recognition through the Service's promotional channels.
“Hailsham Youth Service plays an essential role in giving young people a positive outlet, reducing antisocial behaviour and fostering a stronger community,” said Joel Cottingham, Deputy Youth Service Manager. “Our sponsorship programme allows businesses to make a real difference while demonstrating their commitment to the future of Hailsham.”
“Our outings are designed to challenge and inspire. Every activity gives young people new skills, boosts their confidence and helps combat boredom. We welcome businesses that share our vision to partner with us and support these transformative experiences.”
The Youth Service is managed and primarily funded by Hailsham Town Council, while also operating as a Community Interest Company (CIC), allowing it to accept private sector funding to support its expanding range of activities. Access to youth centres remains free of charge, with many organised activities offered at minimal or no cost to participants.
“With support from local businesses, we can keep these services accessible to all. Sponsoring the Friday Night Project isn't just about funding activities – it's about creating a brighter, safer future for our youth,” commented Kerrie Potter, Youth Work Lead.
Businesses interested in becoming sponsors are encouraged to get in touch to explore partnership opportunities and discuss how they can help empower the next generation.
