More Friday Night Project Activities for Hailsham's Young People (24/03/25)

A variety of activities have been planned for the Friday Night Project over the coming weeks, including 'Animal Encounters' at Knockhatch Adventure Park and Youth Nights at The Station Youth Centre - to include games, activities, karaoke, pool, air hockey, pizza-making, cheesecake-making, sub sandwich-making, cookery and much more.........

New Clubs Already Engaging Young People in Hailsham (24/03/25)

Two new youth clubs, organised by Hailsham Youth Service and launched in February, are already being well-attended and engaging young people in Hailsham and the surrounding area - 'The Lounge' offering gaming sessions and 'Fusion' providing creative arts activities - both taking place at the Station Youth Centre on Mondays.........

Service Thanks the Local Community for Recent Support (05/03/25)

Hailsham Youth Service is grateful to the local community for its support in recent years by way of sponsorship and donations. Operating alongside the Town Council as a Community Interest Company (CIC), the Service can accept private sector funding to support the ever-increasing programme of events and activities for young people.........

Hailsham Youth Service Hosts its First Sussex Conference (06/03/25)

Hailsham Youth Service successfully hosted its first-ever youth work conference on Saturday 1st March, which brought together youth work practitioners from across Sussex. At the conference, there was an opportunity for youth organisations to network, share their professional roles and run some workshop activities together.........

Community Celebrates Youth Service's 25-Year Milestone (25/02/25)

Youth Service to Host New Games Afternoons (03/02/25)

Hailsham Youth Service to Host Sussex Youth Work Conference (03/02/25)

Hailsham Youth Service, in partnership with East Sussex Youth Services, is delighted to be hosting its first-ever youth work conference for anybody who works with young people in a youth work capacity to come together, network, share experiences and learn from each other. The programme will feature a wide variety of workshops and speakers for the day........

Hailsham Youth Service to Launch New Creative Arts Sessions (31/01/25)

We are excited to invite local young people to our new, fun-filled weekly music, media and creative arts 'Fusion' sessions, launching on Monday 24th February. Martin Cosser Gives Powerful Talk on Knife Crime (17/01/25)

In Hailsham Youth Service's campaign to ensure the safety and well-being of local young people, youth workers welcomed Martin Cosser - a guest speaker on knife crime - to talk to young people about his experience and the dangers and consequences of carrying knives, and the effect it has on families and the local community........

Service to Celebrate 25-Year Anniversary Milestone (16/01/25)

Winter Activities for Young People in Hailsham (13/01/25)

A variety of activities have been planned, including indoor activities at Knockhatch Adventure Park and ten-pin bowling at Freedom Leisure Centre. Hailsham Youth Workers Visit Houses of Parliament (04/12/24)

A group of youth workers ventured to London to receive a tour of the Houses of Parliament, where they were given a brief history of the building and how the UK's democratic system evolved. The tour was followed by a question and answers session, and a chat with Mrs Ghani, who also serves as the senior Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons........

Activities for Young People Leading Up to Christmas(27/11/24)

A variety of activities for young people have been planned for the Friday Night Project in the run up to Christmas, including open ski sessions at Knockhatch Ski Centre, Ringo tobogganing at Knockhatch Adventure Park and ten-pin bowling at Freedom Leisure, as well as a big end of year Christmas Party at the Station Youth Centre on Friday 20th December.......

New Social Nights to be Set Up for 18-21s (29/10/24)

A new youth club will open its doors next week, which will engage young people aged 18 to 21 in Hailsham and the surrounding area. 'Network @ The Underground' social nights are to be launched, which will take place from 7pm-9pm every other Friday at the Station Youth Centre in Western Road, starting on Friday 8th November.......

Next Round of Friday Night Project Activities Confirmed (17/09/24)

A variety of activities have been planned, including activities at Knockhatch and a Halloween-themed pottery glazing session at Belle's Pottery Studio and Cafe........Also featuring is a Youth Night at the new Station Youth Centre premises in Western Road, at which young people will be able to play pool, table tennis, board games and take part in craft activities......

Station Youth Centre Officially Opened by Local MP Nus Ghani (14/09/24)

An open afternoon was held by Hailsham Youth Service on Saturday[14th September at the Station Youth Centre, which was attended by the Town Mayor Cllr Paul Holbrook, Sussex Weald MP Nus Ghani and local councillors. Hailsham Youth Service staff were on hand to talk to members of the public, give them a tour of the building and tell them more about the facility and services on offer to young people......

Station Youth Centre Refurbishment and Forthcoming Opening (02/09/24)

The official opening of the new Station Youth Centre is moving ever closer, with the refurbishment of the building's interior, upgrades to the roof and landscaping of grounds currently being undertaken. An opening event attended by youth service staff, local councillors and dignitaries will take place at the Centre on Saturday 14th September.......

New Project Giving a Voice to Local Young People (12/08/24)

Hailsham Youth Service has set up a new project aimed at giving a voice to the town's young people and finding out how they feel about the town and opportunities they have locally. The Amber Mark Project, a research-based initiative, will involve visits to different areas of the town, while asking young people for their views on different topics of concern.......

Summer Holiday Activities for Young People in Hailsham (26/07/24)

Hailsham Youth Service has organised a varied line-up of indoor and outdoor activities designed to liven up the summer holidays, running from 22nd July to 2nd September and including events such as campfire and bushcraft activities, trampolining, ten-pin bowling, rounders, Giant Pillows and bungee, as well as a walk along the Cuckoo Trail.......

New Centre Attracts Around 300 People in Opening Weeks (17/07/24)

After a successful trial run of the new youth centre, The Station, Hailsham Youth Service can confirm that around 350 young people have visited the venue since its opening just a few weeks ago. The announcement of the opening of the centre followed the recent purchase of new premises and relocation of the youth service's operational centre to Western Road.......

The Station Youth Centre Opens Its Doors! (08/07/24)

The Station Youth Centre has opened its doors, which will engage young people in Hailsham and the surrounding area! Based on the lower floor of Hailsham Youth Service's newly acquired building in Western Road (formerly Hailsham Free Church), the centre is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the remainder of the current school term.......

Brand New Youth Centre Opening in Hailsham Soon! (07/06/24)

A new youth club will open its doors later this month, which will engage young people in Hailsham. 'The Station' Youth Centre, which will be available for young people to attend from Tuesday 18th June, be based on the lower floor of the Service's newly acquired building in Western Road and run sessions on weekday afternoons and evenings.......

New Centre Secured for Youth Service to Expand Operations (01/05/24)

An exciting new chapter is opening for Hailsham Youth Service following the recent purchase of new premises and relocation of the youth service's operational centre. Offering nearly 400m2 of space, the site is also intended to become a centre for the wider community with possibilities including private hire for community groups and professional services.......

Mayor Attends Pottery Glazing Christmas Workshop (11/12/23)

The Mayor of Hailsham attended a special Friday Night Project event at Belle's Pottery Studio recently, and helped young people decorate and glaze their own Christmas-themed pottery. The pottery decorating class was just one of a variety of activities for young people planned for the Friday Night Project during the run up to Christmas.......

Mayor Sponsors Halloween-Themed Pottery Glazing Class (27/10/23)

The Mayor attended a special Friday Night Project event at Belle's Pottery Studio recently, and helped young people decorate and glaze their own Halloween-themed pottery. The class, of which Mayor Cllr Paul part-sponsored from his mayoral allowance, was just one of a variety of activities organised for young people planned during the run up to Christmas.......

HYS has launched a monthly newsletter for parents, devoted to providing information on the Service's range of projects, activities, support services and opportunities for young people. The newsletter also features photos of activities and other regular news updates, as well as information on how young people can participate in events and attend outings...

HYS Working in Partnership With Community College (12/06/23)

A touchscreen interactive television has been donated to Hailsham Youth Service, which provides youth work, support services and opportunities for young people in the local area. Donated by Clevertouch Technologies, the television will be used to support Hailsham Youth Service's expansion - in particular, for educational and staff training purposes....

HYS Appoints New Deputy Manager (19/05/23)

HYS has appointed a new Deputy Manager. Looking forward to the challenging role and carrying over his extensive youth work experience to the young people of Hailsham, Joel said: "I am honoured to have been selected for this position and pleased that I have had so much support from fellow team members so early into my role...."  

HYS Receives Award for Service to the Community (11/05/23)

HYS has received an award from the High Sheriff's Office, given "in recognition of great and valuable services to the community". A framed certificate was presented to Service staff by the former High Sheriff of East Sussex, Mrs Jane King, at the Square Youth Cafe, along with a £250 grant award from the High Sheriff Fund at Sussex Community Foundation....

HYS Launches New Digital Newsletter for Parents (20/04/23)

Hailsham Youth Service: Revised Opening Times (22/03/23)

Hailsham Youth Service continues to offer after-school and evening activity sessions for young people, although with a change in opening times which took effect from 1st April. Furthermore, the Service has organised a varied line-up of free activities over the next few months designed to encourage even more young people through the doors of the youth centres.........

As part its commitment to putting young people at the heart of everything they do, Hailsham Youth Service is currently accepting applications for the position of Deputy Youth Service Manager to help with the expansion of local services for young people. The successful candidate will assist in the planning and design of the youth service's offering.........

Donation Received from Police Property Fund (11/01/23)

HYS has received yet another cash boost, this time a £500 donation from the Police Property Act Fund (PPAF), which will be used to fund the Service's arts, crafts and cookery activities over the coming months. "We are delighted to receive this cheque from the and extremely grateful to officials for generously supporting our youth projects and activities"........
