We have recently set up a 'Safe-Hub' facility at 1 Market Square, adjacent to the Square Youth Cafe, to accommodate young people who are under the influence of alcohol or other substances.
Safehub: Here to support a safer night
The need for better support and education for the town's young people whilst under the influence has been evident and through the new facility, we can now offer a safe environment for young people to go and contact home or emergency services if required.
The Safe-Hub facility is available for young people on Fridays (from 6.45pm to 11pm).
Providing things to do, someone to talk to and places for young people to go. Opportunities for young people to become actively involved in their local community. New experiences, projects and activities for young people to take part in.

SafeHub: Safeguarding & Support
Operating out of the premises at 1 Market Square, Safe-Hub is available on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7pm to 9pm.
Safe-Hub is a place for those under the influence to come and seek support and safeguarding. We will assess each young person upon arrival and will offer light refreshments and the use of our bathroom facilities. We will then contact family or trusted professionals to assure their welfare and support them in making a safe jouney home, accompanied by our specially-trained and insured team.
SafeHub: Services Available
Operating out of the premises at 1 Market Square, Safe-Hub is available on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7pm to 9pm. Group work and 1 to 1 sessions on various topics which help boost emotional and physical well-being and safety will beoffered, including drug and alcohol awareness programmes.
We will also run courses devised to educate and support young people around their reasons to drink or take drugs. We have a particular focus on peer-pressure and anger management.
At some of the sessions, Hailsham Youth Service will be inviting guest speakers from varying professions in the public sector to give their advice around the impact of alcohol and substance abuse/misuse. These professionals include those representing Sussex Police, Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) and East Sussex Drug & Alcohol Recovery Service (STAR).
